Adam joined Bargate Murray in June 2010 as a trainee solicitor, having spent the previous year upon completing his LPC in Bristol, developing an online retail venture.
Since joining, he has gained first class experience in the employment, litigation, dispute resolution and commercial departments, the highlights of which have included:
Taking an active role in settling a hotly contested employment dispute;
Assisting the senior partner, Quentin Bargate, in the drafting of a number of commercial contracts;
Taking an active role in advising a court appointed receiver in relation to a judgment debt which is now estimated to have reached some $100 million. This matter has involved commencing arbitral proceedings against a multinational oil company in relation to a hugely profitable oil concession situated in Yemen. The arbitration involved issues of both Yemeni and Lebanese, as well as English, law and was heard over a two-day hearing in Geneva.
Whilst the majority of Adam’s work has been focused on litigation and arbitration, he has recently joined the Superyacht department, where he has assisted in advising on matters such as berthing agreements and the effects of the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 on the yachting industry.
Outside of the office, Adam is something of a keep-fit fanatic, who enjoys literature, music and finding new places to eat and drink with friends.
