As 2013 draws to a close, we look back at another successful year at Bargate Murray.

The Yacht Group has enjoyed a busy and fruitful 12 months, particularly with our first fully managed event at the Monaco Yacht Show, alongside our four co-sponsors from the yachting industry at Zest Bar.

Quentin Bargate was also appointed to Cayman Island Ship Advisory Council (CISAC) yacht committee by the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry, attending panel meetings in Florida and Monaco. In November Quentin and the Director of Business Development attended our first Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, and we look forward to attending further shows in the coming years.

Our Aviation Group has also seen a boost, with the addition of associate Lauren Payne.

We reaffirmed our commitment and interest in start up businesses with two successful Seed Academy events on the topics of angel finance and “Buyouts, Exit Strategies and Raising Finance.”

September saw the incorporation of the firm, and the promotion of Senior Associate Adam Ramlugon to Partner. On his appointment Adam says:

“Having undertaken my training with the firm, joining the partnership was a particularly special moment for me. I was naturally delighted to accept the appointment and look forward to contributing further to the firm’s growth and success.”

The team’s development has been additionally enhanced with Mark Needham’s recent qualification to solicitor, and Patrick Greaney and Olivia Streatfield commencing training contracts with the firm.

Senior Partner Quentin Bargate comments:

“It has been a fantastic year for the firm. We had a successful High Court hearing in March setting new legal precedent in the area of costs orders. We have been very busy on yacht sales and purchases, construction and seafarer employment agreements – an area in which we have become leading experts. Our litigation and aviation teams are very busy and we continue to work with local start-up businesses to assist them in the early stages of their development. We never forget that our clients come first and we measure our success by client satisfaction. We look forward to continuing to work with our clients, developing new contacts and helping clients to achieve their business goals.”

The New Year sees a probable move to larger office premises. We will also be celebrating our 10th anniversary since the foundation of the firm by Quentin. More information to follow in due course.

Finally, a big thank you to our clients, friends and fellow professionals for their continuing support and here’s to 2014!
